Some genealogy of James R Skinner, I am listing a brief outline of my Skinner ancestors only. Many thanks to Beverly Murphy who encouraged and aided me in getting started on my family tree. My ancestor, John (John of Hartford) Skinner came to North America circa 1636 from Braintree, England as did Mary Loomis who arrived here after he did. John is listed among the founders of Hartford, CT. I have found we are kinsmen with Samuel Colt, U. S. Grant, John (The Abolutionist) Brown and Gideon Welles who was Sec. Navy for Lincoln. Some kinsmen were Revolutionary soldiers. Some fought for the South in "The War of Northern Aggression". Anyone interested further please feel free to contact me via Email
